SDI’s High-Build Casting Epoxy Resin is designed for thick-pour and craftsman’s applications such as Epoxy River-Tables. This coating has great clarity, an unbelievably-thin viscosity, and long “open times” to allow for casting into deeper molds. Set times are intentionally slow with this material to allow an excellent ability to fill tiny pin holes (such as commonly found on live-edge wood projects), minimal heat-gain (which can negatively impact many forming materials), and also to allow for better release of entrapped air. While practical pours of at least 1″-1.5″ deep are recommended, we’ve cast more than 2.5″ depths at once with our High-Build casting epoxy, still with good clarity. While the clarity of this High-Build casting Epoxy is excellent, it also works well with metallic pigments to yield some amazing, artistic creations.
